I struggle a lot with my monkey-mind, like all of us I presume but there is one important thing to know about the monkey-mind, is that it usually has your worst interest in mind. No matter how many times you keep coming back to that chatter, that noise inside your head, it does not have final say.
I always teach my students of yoga that no matter what you do or where you go, there you will be, as well as alongside your monkey-mind. No matter how much yoga, how much meditation, heck enlightenment even, there is no measure, the monkey-mind remains.
Assume this ride (LIFE) is paid in full and you have the freedom to do whatever you want. Live however you want, wherever you want, doing whatever you want! There is no limit to what you can spend, no limit to the many people you can meet, connect with, dream of, share this LIFE with! You create each moment to look like what you want it to look like! Everything else is simply constraints we put on ourselves, ways in which to keep us shielded from LIFE. What would that be like if you approached LIFE in this way?
Imagine the monkey-mind as that inner critic that never gets a day off. Do the mind a favor and allow the voice to fall into the background, maybe then it’ll feel more inclined to take a back seat, maybe then it’ll let you lead with your heart and not your head.
enjoy this day
